Apps wont download keep getting 0x80010108 error every time i try

I keep getting this error "0x80010108 when i try to download any app. Ive checked my Date and Time, Reset Store Cache, Done the 3 step process to make a new Software Distribution folder, and it still give?s me that error code no matter what i try to download. Which would be game, entertainment, google search apps. Is their any way to fix this problem? O and i just got done resetting my laptop to factory settings 2 days ago and let it do updates the first day. I also use Avast Antivirus. And i have Java and Adobe installed. And yes i have enough RAM. I have 4gig installed. If you need any zip files or something copied and pasted please ask, and please tell me where that file is since im not good with file stuff since im 15 years old. Thank you for your support.

Hi Shawn.Smith,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

From your description I understand you are facing an issue with opening Windows store. Well, this can be frustrating. We can sort this out by approaching this issue in a systematic way.

Let us start with a few questions-
1) Are you facing the issue with all the apps from Windows store?
2) Have you made any changes on the computer prior to this issue?
3) Are you using any proxy connection to connect to Internet?

Please try the following methods to resolve the issue.

Method 1–
I would have you run the Modern UI App troubleshooter.
Refer the link-
http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/4/F24D0C03-4181-4E5B-A23B-5C3A6B5974E3/apps.diagcab

Method 2-
I would have you refer the article-
What to do if you have problems with an app
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/what-troubleshoot-problems-app

.Method 3: Disable proxy connection.
If you are using any Proxy connection, then try disabling the proxy connection and check if you are able to connect to Windows Store.
Follow the steps to disable proxy:
a. Click the Gear box at the top right corner in internet explorer.
b. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
c. Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings.
d. Uncheck the option “Use a Proxy Server for your LAN”.
e. Click Apply and Ok to cave changes.

Method 4:
I suggest you to temporarily disable the Avast antivirus installed on your computer and then try to install the apps from Windows store.

Important Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Hope the above information helps.

even I am facing the same problem.

Earlier, I don't know what went wrong, when I tried installing the apps, they automatically were entering pending status, they would show downloading status up to 79% and then would automatically enter the pending status,,, and I tried all the solutions and yet there was no improvement.

And someone advised me to restore the settings completely, I did that and I ended up losing all the software like adobe, chrome and many others. and also the apps from windows like MAIL,CALENDER,PEOPLE; WEATHER(all the basic apps on the start screen excluding the store, but which is of no use) needed installation, and I try to do that, the store asks the option of repair, I agree and voila! nothing happens!! I try installing them( where it shows the apps have been purchased and you can install them in your pc), and yet again, nothing happens and it shows anew error as the above,,, 80010108.

It every time discovers a new error!!

PS: In short, I tried everything to repair the windows store(including the solutions provided above), even replacing the current internet connection with the higher speed ones, and I ended up losing all the apps and software in my laptop including the Microsoft office package.

And now, the Laptop is useless as the operating system(Windows 8.1) is of no use as none of the apps are working, and I also cant use it for office use since the Microsoft office is also lost.

SO BASICALLY WINDOWS 8.1 IS USELESS> AS NOTHING IS WORKING NOW!!

PS: PLEASE PROVIDE ME A SOLUTION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!! PLEASE!!!!

For all those who are having problems despite having tried all the methods mentioned above, kindly check in the Services.msc whether the service "Windows Modules Installer" is running.
