Where does the windows 8 download save

I purchased Win 8 pro and chose the install from desktop option.  The install failed.  I just get a flashing screen when it boots.  I need to find where the install file or image is saved so I can make a bootable usb disk or re-download the file from Microsoft.  I have booted from the other hard drive in my laptop running release preview and looked all over the drive I downloaded Win 8 pro to and can't find it anywhere.  I have the product key from the purchase of win 8 pro.  I can't find anywhere on the Microsoft site to re-download Win 8 pro without paying for it again.

You've reached the right forum for your question. As I understand that you want to know where the Windows 8 File is saved.

I would suggest you to use Windows 7 USB\DVD to create Windows 8 Bootable USB.

If you want to search for the downloaded file I would suggest you to check in the downloads folder.

I have the same issue, and can't seem to find the file.  Would like to back this up.  Does anyone know what the file name is?  Once I have this I can do a better text search.

I might be wrong but I found mine in a hidden folder on my C Drive called ESD.

I double clicked the application and it started the W8 install process.
