Windows Update error 80070005 KB2267602

One of our computers (I7) has developed a problem with Windows Update.  Windows Update error 80070005 KB2267602.  Every time I shut down it installs other windows updates and then goes into a loop installing Windows Update KB2267602.  I have to physically power off the system to get it out of the loop.  when I reboot and display update errors it shows KB2267602 failed with error 80070005.

The error code “80070005” could occur when you there are permission issues while performing any task on Windows. Apart from that, virus or malware might also lead to such scenarios or errors.


KB2267602 is the latest Definition update for Windows Defender. Some updates require administrative permissions to be installed. Therefore, signing in as an administrator may help resolve the issue. Follow the methods to try and fix the issue:

Method 1:
