I have Windows 7 Pro (64-bit) with Kaspersky Internet Security 2014. I have had no major problems between the two, but at some point this past week I started to get 'Runtime Error 217 at XXXXXXXX'.
The runtime error occurs infrequently. In some cases, I noticed that the time it takes for Win7 to accept my log-on password and go to the main screen is longer than the usual 2 to 5 seconds, and during the point at which Win7 activates most of the startup programs, the error occurs and left-clicking is disabled (none of my programs will activate after left-clicking, nor will such a window as the Control Panel pop up). Sometimes Win7 jumps from log-on screen to main screen normally, and still I get the error. And once in a while, as Win7 is loading, just after the opening splash screen, and before the log-on password screen appears, I get a BSOD. The Recovery Agent can't find the problem.
Should I install Microsoft Fix-It, or run a clean boot and activate one service at a time to see if the runtime error occurs. I have never touched the registry (manually or with another program), and I have yet to activate even one program within Advanced System Optimizer with my latest Win7 setup.
For starters, I have a feeling the problem might have arisen either from VirtuMVP or the Bing Desktop (faulty installation, perhaps?); in which case, I may have to uninstall either one or both, clean up the disk from the Explorer, run a disk check and reinstall one or both.
UPDATE: I'm in the middle of power-cycling my clean boots, activating one program at a time until Runtime Error 217 shows up again...
...But as for my BSODs (which have been more frequent than I thought), I have this information:

Anyone able to make sense of this?
