Windows 7 cannot connect to network folder or network printer after update

Suddenly after February update I cannot access the network folders, our network printers with my Windows 7 machine and the logon script is not running because its on a shared folder.

After a late night trying different solutions I did a system restore to a date before the update and it work directly after reboot.

Some time later the updates is reinstalled and the problems is back.

When I try to connect to a computer or server in the network by typing \\computername\ or \\ipadress\ in file explorer I get the error 0x0004005 and also all my network printers are offline.

Internet access and all other access is possible, I can connect to other computers with Remote Desktop and from them connect to shared folders on my local Win 7 PC.

What the heck has happended? I also tested all the network trouble shooting guides but they find nothing.

Hello Modde,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Answers Forum! If you would like to control which Microsoft Updates are installed on your computer, you can take the following steps to set your update settings to manual:

·          Click Start

·          Select Control Panel

·          Select Turn Automatic Updating On or Off

From here, you can chose to install updates manually, as well as chose which updates you want to be notified of

·          Click OK

Please let me know if this helps J
