Windows update error 80007003 when upgrading to Windows 10

Hi,

I've tried installing windows 10 from windows 8.1 about 5 times now, and each time the bar is about 3/4 of the way through 'preparing installation' it comes up with error 80007003. I have tried numerous solutions, such as deleting the data store, but it still comes across the same error.

    Thanks in advance

Same error and I've tried exactly same solutions but this error keeps coming back, it seems like no solution found yet, also tried WindowsUpdateDiagnostic , but it doesn't help either.

Can anyone look into this matter ?

Thanks

I've also tried installing through the program that you can download, it went full screen and started to install, but at about 30% it kicked me back to the desktop and said that an error had occurred.

First step: run the Windows Update troubleshooter: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/gp/windows-update-issues/en-us?wa=wsignin1.0

If that fails to resolve the problem, proceed as follows. You need to be logged in as Administrator by the way.

  1. Hit Windows key + R to open the Run command.
  2. Type: services.msc and click OK to open the Services console.
  3. Scroll down to Windows Update, right click it and choose Stop.
  4. Hit Windows key + E to launch File Explorer.
  5. Double click the Windows folder, and then double click the SoftwareDistribution folder
  6. Double-click the DataStore folder to open it, and then delete all files in that folder. You'll probably be asked for the Administrator password so have that handy.
  7. Click the Back button and then in the SoftwareDistribution folder double-click the Download folder to open it and delete all the files in that folder.
  8. Close File Explorer and hit Windows key + R again.
  9. Type: services.msc once more and then right click Windows Update and choose Start.

The above steps will delete the History (but not the updates) in Windows Update so that they won't be visible anymore in that menu. To see which updates have been installed after performing the above steps, go to Programs and Features in Control Panel and click the link called "View installed updates".

Let me know how you get on please.

I've tried this three or four times too, to no avail. I'll try it again though

Try disabling your AV until the installation finishes. Most AV can be disabled via the tray icon, but here's a list of other methods per type: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/114351/how-to-temporarily-disable-your-anti-virus-firewall-and-anti-malware-programs/
