Windows 10 0xc1900101 0x20017

I tried upgrading to Windows 10, and I was reverted back to Windows 7 and got this:

0xC1900101 - 0x20017

The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation

What can I do to solve this issue?

Just done some research, and it is caused by my processor, Intel Pentium G3258. MICROSOFT PLEASE FIX THIS, it is a very serious issue.

Its very funny because i got the intel pentium g3258 and i think its because of overclocking but if not its the processor

I solved it by turning off one core, but I want to use all two cores. It is not overclocked.

so your in windows 10 right now using both cores? and how'd you turn off a core?

I have an AMD FX 4.2ghz Quad Core processor and i have the same problem. I'm thinking that might not be the issue since we have completely different brands.

No it wont boot with both cores. You will have to check with your motherboard manufacturer for that, because I have a Gigabyte board. ASRock is the only company with an update to support Windows 10.

I think it is something to do with a microcode update, because that was my issue.

I had the same error when I tried to upgrade from 8.1 to 10.

In my case it was caused by an onboard Marvell 88SE61xx controller which probably the Windows 10 install image doesn't include drivers for.

After disabling that controller in BIOS, Windows 10 could boot and finish the installation.
