Disable Google restricted mode for a child account on Windows 10?

I just updated my kids' laptop to Windows 10. My oldest is having issues with YouTube, where it forces "restricted mode" on. I found pages on the internet saying to be able to turn restricted mode off, you have to remove yourself from the family in Family Safety (fss.live.com). I don't want to completely remove him from the family, but I want to be able to turn off "restricted mode". How do I do this?
You need to disable the safe search functions for bing, once that's disabled just turn off the restricted mode and it will allow you to watch your videos again!

Haven't tried that yet, but assuming that does work, that's one heck of a sacrifice just to be able to use Google services again.

To explain: we found later that not only does it affect the viewing of certain YouTube videos, but it also locks you out of using Google Docs (if not completely, then it severely limits functionality). My son's high school sometimes uses Google Docs for assignments, and my son was unable to open or edit his own documents with "restricted mode" on.

So, in order to do his homework, I have to turn off safe search? I don't even turn on safe search for myself, I leave it set to Moderate; and I don't have any issues with Google sites.

The same thing is happening to me, too. I can't find anything in family safety to turn of YouTube's restricted mode, and disabling SafeSearch doesn't work.

Microsoft, please fix this!

My younger brother is having the same problem. Tried disabling safe search (which was set to strict) in Bing, and then turning restricted mode off in YouTube, but nothing changed. Restricted mode still won't turn off.

I've scoured the revised family safety site, but have yet to find any setting that would cause this.

We are also having this problem.

All three of my children have updated to Windows 10. I am still on Windows 8.1Pro.

None of them can watch most of the youtube videos they used to watch all the time.

None of them have google or youtube accounts.

Short of removing them from the 'family' I don't see anything that I can do to allow them to watch youtube videos and still be monitored and safe in the 'family'..

Help!

Come on Microsoft FIX THIS.  Only reason I chose surface w/ win10  over chromebook was family safety features.  If I have to disable this for my kids to watch videos assigned for homework I might as well go to chromebook.
