bluetooth media buttons don't work on 1803 update

DON'T GIVE US THOSE STUPID SOLUTIONS BECAUSE NONE OF THEM WORKS, YOU OBVIOUSLY CHANGED SOMETHING WITH THE 1803 UPDATE THAT DISABLES BLUETOOTH CONTROLS FOR DESKTOP APPS, YOU WILL FIX THIS UNTIL THEN ENJOY MY POSTS, SINCE YOU'RE DISRESPECTFUL THAT YOU DON'T HAVE THE DECENCY TO GIVE US A PROPER REPLY REGARDING THIS MATTER.

Hi Fahad. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 8 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

Reinstall the bluetooth software and driver from the PC or device's Support Download web page.

Try the Bluetooth troubleshooter at Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.

Try Updating the Bluetooth driver from the PC maker's Support Downloads webpage for your exact model. Install it even if it's the same or newer than the one in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button.

Right click Start button to access Device Manager, locate Bluetooth device (if necessary from View tab Show Hidden Devices), on Driver tab see if Roll Back is available, if not try Update Driver, first automatically, then Browse, then Let Me Pick to try all previously installed Drivers.

If these fail try to Uninstall the Driver, restart PC to reinstall.

Then try pairing again, if necessary run the Bluetooth Troubleshooter again.

If this was caused by Windows Updates then you can check which were installed at Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update under Installed Updates, then uninstall them from the link there, and hide with the Hide Updates tool downloaded from here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f2...

You can also use System Restore to get before the problem began, then check for Updates with the Hide Update tool and hide them: http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/computing/how-t...

Go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

If nothing else helps then run a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. This solves many problems and will also bring it up to the latest version which you need anyway and by the most stable method. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...

If this was caused by the April Version 1803 Update you can roll back Version 1803 in Settings>Update & Security>Recovery and then hide it until it matures using the Hide Updates Tool downloaded from here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f2...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Your Bluetooth driver may need an upgrade. To give you the download link, I need to know your computer's make and model number.

You can also try following -

Take actions related to Bluetooth Driver
Windows Key+X > Click Device Manager > Expand Bluetooth > Right click on your Bluetooth >

A. Rollback the Driver
Click Properties > Go to Driver tab > If there is rollback option, click it

B. Uninstall the Driver
Uninstall > Reboot the computer > The driver will be installed automatically when you restart

C. Update the driver
Click Update Driver Software > Click Browse my computer for driver software > Click Let my pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > Choose the driver > Click Next to update > If this does not work, select Search automatically for the updated driver in place of Browse my computer for driver software > Restart your computer
Sincerely yours,

I have the same problem on two different laptops with Intel and Broadcom Bluetooth adapters and few Bluetooth headsets (Logitecch H800, Plantronics Backbeat Sense and others).

The problem is still there after the clean Windows 1803 install. The only application which is still working with Bluetooth media keys is the Groove Music. All other apps, including JetAudio, Google Music Desktop Player and Windows Media Player doesn't work properly with Bluetooth. This issue is also present on the most recent Insider Preview builds.

I'm very disappointed about this issue. This is the critical bug and it can be easily reproduced. Dear Microsoft, do you test your products?

Is it really hard to test the Bluetooth in new Windows release with new Bluetooth features?
