Windows 10 Task Manager (not responding)?

Windows 10 Task Manager (not responding)? How do I fix this? The box is blank with the exception of (not responding) to the right of the box title. Right click on task bar, calculator, web and windows search also not working.

Ran CC cleaner several times, it fixed issues for me.  However yesterday, my computer just shut down on me and decided to update its self. So far am I am not impressed.

The immediate fix for me was a couple of steps:

1) When I could finally get to Control Panel (Win + X), I went to Windows Backup & Restore and did a restore BACK to the first Restore point that Windows created following the initial Win10 conversion.  Apparently the first "Critical Update" was messing Win10 up, so I restored back from that update.

2) That allowed the new Notifications tool to become active, and in it I switched to Tablet Mode, then back to Desktop mode (suggested by someone else here).

3) That finally fully activated the entire status bar, Start button, silly "Cortana" help box, notifications area.

It seems it took several Restarts to get Win10 to fully get itself sorted properly.

Eventually, Win10 did additional updates, some of which seem to cause a "Critical Error: Start button and Cortana are not working.  Please Sign Out to restore them.", with a Sign/Log Out button.  Each time that has happened, I had to fully restart to get them working again.

Hope this helps.
