Opt out of Outlook Mail Preview?

I just noticed my Outlook got a new look and has a (Preview) attached to it on top. Really disliking the bigger font and less readable space for the amount of emails shown on screen. Also trying to select all emails in one page now only selects only the viewable ones you see within the box which is a major setback. How do I opt out of this ****? I want to go back to the usable and more user friendly older Outlook. They also did away with the pages so its just one endless scroll. This would be useful on a SMARTPHONE but no way ever useful for a desktop user. Makes me want to switch to Gmail but I've had hotmail since 1990's.

The update being rolled out in Preview,  is the first of many innovations coming as Microsoft upgrades Outlook.com to a new Office 365-based infrastructure. 

There is no returning to what was.

So you change Hotmail to the awful Outlook.com and now you're making even more terrible changes and design choices?

totally agree. i love it how the experts say you will get used to this. rubbish. the old system was user friendly. this is just a hard to read system with less features

This just happened to me today. I agree the email interface is horrible. The scrolling takes away so much of the functionality of Hotmail/outlook. Very frustrating indeed. I go through hundreds of emails at a time. The the new scroll feature makes this almost impossible. Does anyone know if the Gmail interface is better? (Been using Hotmail for over ten years).

I think because of your expertise and defense of Microsoft's choices, they assumed you were Microsoft. Thanks for link. I will most definitely be sharing my opinion. Not that it will matter.

I am so glad they did away with that awful 35-messages-at-a-time pagination. Web browsers are good at scrolling. Now I have all of my messages on one page and they're so much easier to sort through.

You are correct about the "Select all items in the view" checkbox for sure. Select all only selects four items for me. Weird. I've asked Microsoft for an explanation.

I've trimmed down the space taken by the message list by clicking the Options gear, then Options, then "Message list" in the Layout section, choosing "Hide preview text". This gives me more room in the message list and selects one more message when I click the Select all box.

Well every since i was put in the preview I am unable to receive any new mail.. no its not in spam no there are not any filters... i can send mail out and get it on other accounts but when i reply to it i get nothing at all in my inbox or any other folder for that matter.

Goodbye Hotmail - Hello GMail.   Does anyone know how to forward messages from my now-useless Hotmail account to my new Google Mail account?    Kinda hard to let every user know of my change of address since I've been using Hotmail since the beginning of time!   Thank you Microsoft for finally convincing me to give up on all these wonderful 'improvements'.

Log into your Hotmail account, go into the options, and forward. Note that if you do not log into that account at some time over the next year, the account will go away, along with any forwarding.
