.ost cannot be accessed

I am using Outlook Hotmail Connector in Outlook 2007 for many months. I have been facing following message for 3 days & unable access my hotmail configured folder.

The set of folders cannot be opened. The file C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\xyz_hotmail.ost cannot be accessed. You must contact to Microsoft Exchange at least once before you can use your offline folder file.

I am using Micrsoft Office Outlook 2007 on Windows 7 Ent.

I don't have Exchange Server connection.

Try to remove and re- add the outlook connector account and check if that helps. Refer to the link below.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/add-or-remove-an-e-mail-account-HA010354414.aspx

If that does not solve the problem refer to the link below and create new outlook profile.

If the ost is damaged and you aren't using a pst as default data store, the rules and views are unrecoverable. If you have a default pst, rules and some views might be in the pst - they'' be available in outlook when you open the profile.
