Excel 2016 Crash/Restarts Even After Complete Reinstall of Office

I have been having this problem for about a month and have gone through as many articles as I can find on Excel crashes.  Whenever I open Excel and enter text into a cell, the program crashes and restarts.  I can't even get far enough to save any work - its almost as if the the Autosave is causing Excel to crash.  (No messages/warnings, etc.)   I checked the EventViewer yesterday and did seem to find a corresponding Application event that looks like this:

Faulting application name: EXCEL.EXE, version: 16.0.10325.20118, time stamp: 0x5b68edfd
Faulting module name: UIAutomationCore.DLL, version: 7.2.17134.112, time stamp: 0x9b2c994a
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000643c9
Faulting process id: 0x157c
Faulting application start time: 0x01d43c6d105c24ca
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\EXCEL.EXE
Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\UIAutomationCore.DLL
Report Id: 796cd8e5-4176-4715-91a1-b5365334ef0a
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

I have looked at add-ins (don't have any), checked/unchecked/rechecked the Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) general option in Excel, tried running in safe mode and still crashed, and then re-installed Office - nothing is working

Please help!  I've got a project and need Excel badly to complete it.  Thank you in Advance!

I also installed the Intel Driver & Support Assistant from the Intel website, and all my Intel drivers checked out fine.

I opened a case with Microsoft Tech Support and he discovered there were multiple versions of Office running on my computer.  There was a basic version of Office installed when I first bought the computer, and then there was another upgraded version (Office Professional 2016) which I purchased through my company's home use program.  The upgraded version did not remove the basic version when it was installed, so tech support simply removed the basic version and that fixed the problem,
