This is a short and sweet way of changing the information:
- Quit all Office 2011 applications.
- Open the Terminal application found in /Applications/Utilities/.
- To change the user name type: defaults write com.microsoft.com 14\\UserInfo\\UserName "Your Name"
- To change the company name type: defaults write com.microsoft.com 14\\UserInfo\\UserOrganization "Company Name"
Hit the return key after each each command.
Hope this helps!

I'm not sure which article you're referencing but all Microsoft knowledge base articles say that when connecting from a non-Windows computer. It's a stupid stupid oversight on Microsoft's part. That should read:
This is a short and sweet way of changing the information:
- Quit all Office 2011 applications.
- Open the Terminal application found in /Applications/Utilities/.
- To change the user name type: defaults write com.microsoft.com 14\\UserInfo\\UserName "Your Name"
- To change the company name type: defaults write com.microsoft.com 14\\UserInfo\\UserOrganization "Company Name"
Hit the return key after each each command.
Hope this helps!
defaults write ~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.office "14\\UserInfo\\UserName" "Full Name"
defaults write ~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.office "14\\UserInfo\\UserOrganisation" "Company Name"
Just a small typo with the plist file name. It is com.microsoft.office not com.microsoft.com

- Preferences.
- User info.
- If the company name is listed remove it.
Get out of preferences when Finished. If not there it put in during the first install and one of the MVP will have to tell you how to open the the registration files and remove the desired information. That is above my expertise and I would not be comfortable
telling someone how to alter this done wrong means complete removal and reinstall of application.
