Tried to redeem prepaid card, got error 80190848 and now it says "already redeemed"

Hello there, first time using the Microsoft Forums.

I bought a $50 prepaid card to use on my X360. After typing the code, hitting start and waiting, it returned me the following message:

"Unauthorized payment. Use another form of payment or check if your billing address is correct. If you have any questions, get in contact with your financial institution. For more information, check status code 80190848 at www.xbox.com/errorhelp" (translated from portuguese, I'm from Brazil)

Weird... Why would a prepaid card return an error about form of payment and billing address?

After a few seconds, I tried to enter the same code one more time. To my surprise, this is the error message I got:

"This code has already been redeeemed. Please enter an unused code"

What? So you "error" me AND screw up my $50 code?

I checked my account and the money isn't there - it seems my code just "vanished" with this bug/error thing.

Can someone help me?

That is a strange error message for a prepaid card.  Which country is your gamertag set up for and which country was the card for?

If they both match (eg. GT: US, card: US) then you'll need to contact phone support for more assistance as this would be a billing issue.

If the countries are different then the amount will be stored on your account just inaccessible as the regions do not match.  You would need to do a region change to access the amount.

If this is the case be aware that a region cannot be changed again for 90 days.

I also have this issue. Live Gold time doesn't work either. Any code in general I imagine.
