When my son signed up for Xbox live he inadvertantly left out part of our e-mail address. He called to get it changed and support tried to help him change the password. This is not the issue....they would be changing someone else's password. Is there a way to edit an incorrect entry for a Windows ID?

On your xbox click on your avatar then go two tabs to the right and click Manage account Then go to the right and hit change windows live Id. :) I just had to do this 30seconds ago!

It's not as easy as this. To do this you need your current password which is a password for a Windows ID that is not ours. I am not sure how they even let this go through since the Windows ID and password should not have matched right off. Thanks for the idea though.

If you are unable to properly sign into the account with the WLID and password, you'll have to call phone support to get it sorted. If they cannot verify ownership of the account and/or help you with your particular issue, it might just be easier to create a new GT for your son. It doesn't sound like he's had this one very long, so you won't lose too much. Sorry for all the hassle; I hope phone support can help you sort it out!
