I've been a happy user of a XBOX360s console but something has come to my attention...

So I have an PIANO BLACK XBOX360s which was never tampered with and it had this strangely familiar sound when one touches the power button (swoosh) and that other sound (zoooooom) when I press eject.  I was thinking all XBOX360s consoles were like that until I saw a friend's which does a beep which resembles an bell when you press the power button. Another pitch of a similar sound is played when you press eject.

To my surprise (or perhaps horror) I see a youtube video where a user shows his brand new HALO REACH LIMITED EDITION console and it does EXACTLY the same sounds as mine.

How come I have an standard PIANO BLACK 250GB 360s unit which does behave like an HALO REACH LIMITED EDITION unit ? Is it some kind of mistake ?

If anyone is wondering about it, the unit serial match on the DASHBOARD matches that of the casing sticker and front USB port.

All stickers and seals are intact as well.

Can anyone explain what's going on with my console ?  (It works fine btw)

From my experience with 360 no beep sound when you open the disk tray to insert or eject disk...

All xbox 360's are a little different. Microsoft has used at least 4 different manufacturers of DVD drives over the years and at least a couple different versions of some of the drives.

Your sounds different from your friends becuase you probably have different dvd drive versions.  And you just happen to have the same drive/version as used in the Halo reach console. As long as all your tamper stickers are intact, serials match, and no problems with your console your ok.

Nothing to worry about.

I was worried because my console was different from my friend's one. Honestly this has nothing to do with DVD drives or anything. You know, as long it plays discs properly and doesn't hang up I'm completely fine with it. I was just scared because it was behaving like the halo reach type.

like I said on my original post I believed all S units were like mine. Seems like I was wrong. Thanks for your answer.
