I finally upgraded my 120 GB hard drive on my Xbox 360 console to a 250 GB drive. I used the transfer cables and followed the directions exactly. Everything works fine except my original Xbox games won't start now. It doesn't matter if it's disc or downloaded. I redownloaded the games, cleared the cache, everything I could think of, but to no avail. Does anybody have any ideas?

Was the new hard drive purchased brand new from a retailer or used/from a third a party like ebay?

Your HDD may be counterfeit...Although I don't see Gamestop ever returning you your money. I would go and make sure you get a new HDD. If you're connected to Live, and your Xbox original titles that used to work, don't, then your drive is a fake.

Why would just Xbox games be affected by that and not my 360 games?

Original Xbox games require an official MS brand hard drive to run because of the emulation software included on them. Knock-offs don't have that software so original games are not able to run.
