Big Problem any help is Appreciated

OK so let me explain the situation. I have been using an Xbox Live account with the gamertag savdog666. I don't know any of the other information about the account, and whenever I try to find out by email or text, I either don't get the text, and when I try to sign into the email that it tells me is associated with the account when playing Xbox, Yahoo says it does not exist. I basically can't get any information from the account no matter what I try. At the same time, I, at one point in time, made another Microsoft ID, with the name Savitt. I know all the information with it, though I have never signed in with it on the Xbox, just on the computer. There is no Xbox Live with it. Then we have my CoD Elite account, which has lots of information I don't want to lose. This account is tied to my gamertag with xbox live, savdog666. Basically, I was thinking that I could change the Windows Live ID associated with my gamertag, which is associated with my elite account. I could just follow the instructions from this tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3y2BZeSNnuk

). I just want to know that if I do this, will I keep the gamertag and everything connected to it (i.e. the Live subscription and the Elite account)? Or will it change the gamertag and everything. I really want to know all of my info because it keeps becoming an issue. Please help and thank you in advance. 

How 'bout signing in on your Xbox with savdog666 ? Then go to Settings | Account Management | two clicks to the right to Account Management | choose Account Security | then choose Change Microsoft Account. Fib to it and tell it you have a new email address ready, then you can confirm what the Microsoft Account (formerly known as the Windows Live ID) is for savdog666.

Once you have that confirmed, then go to http://xbox.com/accounts, click on Sign In, enter the email address and password, then go back to My Accounts and click on Billing Contact Information (in green at lower left) which will show you the name, billing address, phone number and billing email address (which can be different from the Microsoft Account address).

Once you have all that info, then you can go to http://account.live.com

sign in there with the Microsoft Account address and password

click on Update Email Address and change that from the broken Yahoo address to

  • a new address you can create at HOTMAIL or LIVE, or
  • an address you have previously registered at http://signup.live.com - that is, if the address has never been used for an Xbox Live account - which is why creating a new HOTMAIL or LIVE address is more reliable. That eliminates the email address you used for the Savitt account, since once a email address has a gamertag assigned, you have to assign a new address to the Savitt account then wait 30 days before that address can be reassigned to savdog666.

All your achievements, gamerscore, content and LIVE subscription will remain the same with the new address, but when it comes to Call of Duty Elite, I would hope you can check with Activision at 1-800-225-6588 or http://support.activision.com as I am not a Call of Duty player.

Are there Call of Duty Elite folks here who can answer that last question for savdog666?

call of duty elite should follow your profile no matter where you go

if the windows lives ID is change but still tied to your gamertag then your fine
