Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903 - ERROR: 0x80240034

Hey guys,

I recently noticed that my system has been attempting to install the above update with no success (each attempt hails error 0x80240034). I did a little bit of searching online and it seems that there are some known issues with installing this patch, however these issues primarily seem to be related to traditional installs of Windows 10. My desktop is actually running Windows Server 2019, so from what I understand my system should be installing the Windows Server, version 1903 patch, not the Windows 10, version 1903 patch. Can someone confirm a few things for me:

  1. Is this patch applicable to Windows Server 2019? If so, is my system pulling the correct patch based on the naming above?
  2. If the answer to #1 is yes, are there any known bugs that are still being worked for Windows Server 2019 to receive this patch?

 0x80240034 =
 WU_E_DOWNLOAD_FAILED
 Update failed to download.

You can try downloading the file from the Microsoft Update Catalog

I was looking at the update catalog and it looks like the most recent updates for your system are

2019-08 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.7.2 and 4.8 for Windows Server 2019 for x64 (KB4512192)

2019-08 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows Server 2019 for x64 (KB4511522)

2019-08 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.7.2 for Windows Server 2019 for x64 (KB4511517)

2019-02 Update for Windows Server 2019 for x64-based Systems (KB4465065)

2019-08 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2019 for x64-based Systems (KB4511553)

Also the 1903 update would not apply to your system. Server 2019 is part of the LTSC channel, while Server 1903 is part of the semi-annual channel
