windows 8 error code 0xc000000e and keyboard doesn't work after windows update.

Hi there, 

I have recently built a new PC and installed Windows 8 (upgrade from a Vista OS i once used)...it all worked and i was able to use the computer fully until i noticed that i had a windows update.
I proceeded with the update and left it to do it's business, when i came back after around an hour to see how it had gone on i noticed that i was looking at a blue screen with;

Recovery

Your PC needs to be repaired

A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.

Error code: 0xc000000e

You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disk or USB device),
contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.


Press Enter to try again
Press F8 for Start-up Settings

Now i know that people have had questions answered by restarting with the installation disk or pressing Enter or F8 but when i try to restart with installation disk in my Optical Drive or inserting once in this screen it does nothing.
I have also tried entering the BIOS on boot to see if i can change the boot sequence of drives but as stated in the title, i have no ability to use any keys on my keyboard (i've tried with 3 seperate keyboards now) so that said i can't make use any of any of the options given on the blue screen.

Thank you for the detailed information, we need more information assist you, please answer the following question.

Are you using the PS2 keyboard or USB keyboard?

If you have PS2 keyboard port, use the PS2 keyboard port and try to make the changes.

The issue seems to because of hardware, I suggest removing all peripherals from the computer (except mouse, keyboard, and monitor) and booting to see if the issue resolves.

If it does, you can add the hardware back a piece at a time to see what’s failing. If the issue still persists, contact the local technician for better help on this issue.

If you are able to boot from Windows DVD or System Repair Disc, you can run the Automatic repair to fix the issue. Refer to the post replied on August 15, 2013 from the following link.

Hi Ganesh, 

I only have USB keyboards (have tried with 3 different ones now to distinguish a problem with USB), should i take the time to buy a PS2 keyboard?

A list of my current hardware;

Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor,
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard,
Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory,
Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk (which has my Operating System on),
Western Digital BLACK SERIES 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive,
EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card,
Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply.

Would you like to try booting without the the Storage drives and then as stated above, add one at a time to see if it is indeed either of them? 

In reference to Booting with a Windows DVD or System Repair Disk....I do insert my Window 8 Installation Media into the Optical Drive but this does nothing, it blinks for a second and then continues to lie dormant.
