Insufficient privileges? As an administrator....(And running the program as an administrator)

Ok I'm one of the users that skipped vista and went directly from xp pro to windows 7 pro.

I have some programs that won't run, or won't install due to Insufficient privileges.

Let me start with the basics. I have the same issue if I use windows 7 pro or home (two seperate computers) I am an administrator and yes with all of the safety issues I run as an administrator on a daily basis (you won't talk me out of it so don't bother) While attempting to install some programs I get the....this must be done by an admin...blah blah blah.....ok safety feature yay...so I run as admin, good as gold. Other programs, basically fail to run even though I did the run as admin...off hand that was the Aion install I had to work around actually just being able to run the autorun. Now I've come to an issue, with another game, it how ever installed....X3 terran conflict not that it matters much. So after being installed, I run the program.....bam Insufficient Privileges this program must be run as an adminstrator the first time. Run as admin I get the same error.

Now how many of you are thinking 'go ask the game programmers'? In any case...no this seems to be a consistant problem. And until microsoft does something about it....does anyone know how I can disable these problems and actually have my full admin rights as the sole user and owner of my computer.

Keep in mind I use both windows 7 pro and home so if the solution is different between the two I'd need both solutions.

Thanks for the help

you just have to update the tages driver, i did a quick google search for tages driver and downloaded it,  ran it, and it started up no problem, the driver was simply outdated is all, hope this helps :D

and for those that are lazy...direct links to the drivers themselves right from the tages site!

hi,

i myself encountered this kind of problems in some applications and games, i have also tried to take ownership of the exe files, tried to enable the hidden account (bought GUI and CMD styles), right-click and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR...

nothing worked,

basically? any time i encountered this problem it was an old application (which been published before win 7) therefore ::: in any case the only simple solution fixed it mermenetly:

just do an update to the specific application

for example : X3 : Terran Conflict ==> go to the official site and download the list of updates

it works bought on win 7ultimate/home premium (64BIT)
