The shadow copies of volume I: were aborted during detection - HELP !!!

I wasforced to turn off Shadov Copy also - I use a dual boot Win XP (disk C) andWin Pro 7 (disk I) installedon separate disks ( XPinstalled first ). After working inXP and return to Windows 7 I have always receivedthe message:

event id: 29
text: The shadow copies of volume I: were aborted during detection.
level : error

,if someone has a solution for this problem ?

Pardon me for intercepting, but if I understand where Gerry is going with this, Volsnap.sys is monitoring I: if I: is a mounted device at the time XP starts.  If I understand your response, whether or not System Restore is monitoring I: is not relevant.  By the time System Restore starts volsnap.sys has been at work.

The issue arises at the time XP starts.  Unless I: is an unmounted device at XP start volsnap.sys will poll it and check all VSS files on it for consistency with XP VSS file format.  If I: contains Vista or Win 7 shadow copies, they will be deleted because XP volsnap.sys will find file format inconsistencies with XP's VSS file format.
