Change application background color window 10

I have an application (CAD) that I need to have a white background color for the window.

When I installed Windows 10 the background color of the application window is dark gray.  I have not found a way to change the color to white.

I there a way in Windows 10 to change the background color of an application's window?

Thanks,

4. Click on Colors in the Personalization window.......Where? there is no word colors in my window. My issue is that in previous versions of Windows, I was always able to get into the settings to change the color of the window background (my fav light green), so that when I opened a Microsoft Word or Excel file, the background color on my screen was light green - much easier on the eyes than bright white. The "windows background" option allowed that old color chart to open up, where I could move the cursor around to find the exact shade I was looking for (alla Win 98, 2000, XP, 2007, etc). Now, in Microsoft 10, I can find no such option. All my application backgrounds are white, the top menus are white, etc - ugly and hard on the eyes. Where can I find the feature to customize colors of windows applications? Thanks

It is in fact not important if he finds this setting, because it isn't the one he is looking for.

The one you are pointing to has to do with the color for the Start Menu and taskbar, and in the future it will be the one used on the top border of the application window.

But he is looking to override the background color the application is using in their windows.

Windows 10 doesn't have this setting.  It has been removed just like some of the other settings that control fonts and such in applications.

Note I'm just another user trying to help.

Looks like Deepika misunderstood your question.

Generally editing that value is not currently exposed via a user interface.  If you're more technical: what are the values under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\Colors

?  I don't have your CAD software installed so don't know what color they're pulling in, but those would be the usual suspects.  Is the background color in any other application dark grey, or is it just that CAD software?  Knowing an inbox Windows component that was also doing this would help identify what color might be set oddly/differently on your system.

The CAD program is QuickCAD and the background in Windows 10 is medium gray.

The other application backgrounds appear normal white.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\Colors

Background 142 140 216

AppWorkspace 171 171 171

inbox Windows component - don't know what that means.

Thanks,

Verified the background color in QuickCAD is 171 171 171.

Changed AppWorkspace 171 171 171 to AppWorkspace 255 255 255 with no effect.

I was looking for the same thing.  The white background is very harsh & extremely hard on the eyes.  I am on the computer all day, as are most people now, & my eyes are shot.  I would so appreciate an option to soften this background color.  If ever there is a fix, I hope that I am alerted!
