The edges of bax are white. same issue when i click on mouse settings for example. the window that has security settings button configuration etc. has same issue. How do i fix this problem?

Hello Rich,

You can try to check if your desktop settings are correct. Try to check if it is set to High Contrast Black.

Follow the steps provided in the link below:

Change desktop backgrounds and colors

If the steps did not work, we suggest that you do a clean boot of your computer.

A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows 10. Check the link below for the steps:

Clean Boot

Hold on a second.... That worked for me, as well - for about 2 hours. Now it is doing it again. I haven't done anything after rebooting except for run Outlook and browsed a few internet sights on Firefox. This is not a resolution.

I've already done all the "standard" troubleshooting steps (reboot, clear cache, check settings, system restore, etc.) before the clean boot. I've been Googling, and it looks like the problem just popped up in the past few weeks, and it also looks coincidental with the past Windows updates (although system restore didn't have any effect)

This needs a deeper solution, please!

After I ran the clean boot, the issue was gone. In the morning i saw that the blacked out text showed up again. I ran clean boot again so far so good. I too am using firefox. Issue is a real headache when using power point or word, which made doing my final presentations ****. I too believe futher investigation is needed.

Thank You,

Richard Asebedo

Black out text came back again. This problem is quite irritating. As a person jus learning how to use office products, the blacked out text makes things difficult. I bought a new laptop because i was going back to college, to make my life easier. $700 dollars and I can't read windows in powerpoint, word, excel.

Is anybody at Microsoft looking into this? As you can see from the thread below the clean boot appears to be only a temporary fix. Thanks!

Similar issue, came up at least a couple / three weeks ago. Found a temporary fix to uninstall the Display Adapter through Device Manager, and reboot.  The problem is that when you turn off your machine the issue comes back. Waiting for a technician...

This is a temporary fix, problem comes back after a short while. Why has nothing been done about this? I am extremely frustrated with this problem, and the lack of input from Microsoft!
