Win 10 Homegroup compatibility with Win 7 machines

Over a month ago I put my Win 10 computer back to Win 7.  I have 3 other computers ( all win 7 ) and my Win 10 cannot share files with the Win 7 computers so I rolled the Win 10 back to Win 7.  I am hoping this problem is repaired soon.  We share files and photos across our Homegroup.

Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

1) How is your computer is connected to network? Is it public or private?

Your network location might not be set to Home. HomeGroup only works on home networks. To change your network location, follow these steps:

1.Open Network and Sharing Center by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type network, and then click Network and Sharing Center.

2.Click Work network or Public network, and then click Home network.

You can also try to follow these steps and check.

1) Go to each computer in the homegroup and delete the following directory

 C:\windows\serviceprofiles\localservice\appdata\roaming\peernetworking
(This directory is protected, so you will have to confirm when you try to access it)

2) Shut the computer down and leave it off

3)  Connect it to your network
Setup a new Homegroup on your network
