Sound Problem on ASUS Transformer Book T100TA

Hi,

As the post title states, I have an ASUS T100TA tablet. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, and my sound has diminished by at least 50%. It sounds like I have the volume at 50%, but Windows says it is all the way up. I have tried updating drivers, and I have tried drivers from Windows 8.1, and that didn't seem to work. Am I going to have to wait for better drivers, or is this a problem with Windows or one of my settings? Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I see that you have tried installing latest drivers, however if you have not tried installing latest driver from the manufacturer website try the same and check if it helps.

I would suggest you to follow these steps and run the Audio playback troubleshooter.

Type “Troubleshoot” without quotes in search and click on Troubleshooting in the results displayed on the left side of the screen.

  1. In the new window, click Hardware and Sound.

  2. In the list of options, click on Playing sound

  3. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

After running the troubleshooter, try to install the Audio drivers from the manufacturer website and check if it helps:

You can download drivers from manufacturer website.

Do let us know if you have any other queries pertaining to Windows in the future. We will be happy to help.

Thank you

Thank & Regards,

SuJata Moktan.

Hi  SujataMoktan,

I have already done this, and it did not fix the problem. ASUS does not have audio drivers for my device, though it is supported for the upgrade to Windows 10, as they released an updated ATK package and updated touchpad drivers. What else could it be?

This issue has been resolved- after the cumulative update, rolled back to previous driver and it works fine.

How did you resolve the issue.

I upgraded to windows 10 and I have no audio at all, and there is a device that doesn't have a driver in devices.

The suggestion above was what I tried first, but no luck. Somehow microsoft forgot to incorporate some of the drivers in there. Hopefully Asus will update the drivers for windows 10.  But the old drivers for windows 8.1 seem to work perfectly for windows 10 in clean install.

I did wipe out the drive in the Asus T100TA. and deleted the extra recovery partition to get back 8 Gb of storage.

Then installed windows 10 from scratch and used the SOC setup file install from Asus website.

Then all the drivers were installed perfectly. no more issues with anything.

Clean install seems to be the way to go, to get rid of any of the extra trash and also eliminating any problems that could exist with loose drivers and such.

Thanks for the Suggestions

Greetings,

If you have not fixed the problem by now, I had to revert back to an older Realtek driver (version 4055) was what worked for me. I hope this helps you. Sorry for the late reply, but I have been very busy. Take care.

I had the same issue in my T-100TA, when I up to date from windows 8.1 to 10. The sound’s problem I solved considering the answer above. First I download, from Microsoft, a disc image (ISO file) that can be used to install Windows 10. After install from the very beginning, I download from ASUS site , drivers T100TA and install:

From Windows 8.1 32bits

1-Audio> Realtek Audio Driver -version V6.2.9600.4055

2-Hotfix> Intel_SOC_Driver_Package Intel official driver updates - version V10E

From Windows 10 32bits

3- ATKPackage (For Windows 10 Upgrade) -  v ersion V1.0.0039

Thank you ever so much! I have been struggling with this issue for weeks, never would have thought to use an older driver. The system wouldn't let me install the old Realtek driver so it was either 2) or 3) that did the trick.

Thanks again!
