Apologies for the late response.

Since the link given is cannot be opened, please try the following fix below:

1. Run SFC /Scannow

Type CMD in the Search box, run as administrator.

At the command prompt, copy-paste the following command:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

After you see a message that says "The operation completed successfully,". Copy-paste the following command:

sfc /scannow

Close the window.

2. Reinstall Display Drivers

Click on the Search box on the task manager and type Device Manager.
In the Device Manager, expand the category “Display adapters”, right-click your graphics card and select Uninstall.
Restart your computer.
Go back to the Device Manager window, click Action > Scan for hardware changes. This should let Windows automatically detect the display driver.

Have you actually read the responses?

There is a fault in the app. The app needs to be fixed and updated by Microsoft. What you're doing here is making people waste their time. None of the steps above will help, the issue is with Photos 2020.20070.10002.0 which would've automatically updated for everyone by default.

I posted my testing above. I even tried a clean install of Windows and as soon as the photos app was updated, the issue appeared. The link you are referring to is not related to this particular issue although it does seem similar it will not resolve this.

Are you opening the Microsoft Store app? The screenshot looks above just looks like the website.

If you open the Store app, there's a ... button at the top right under the close button. Settings is under there where you'll be able to change the automatically update setting.

That explains it! Didn't know there was a "Store app" per se. I was just logged into my MS account. I find MS account management clunky. An account for an accounts sake, an account for Office, and now an "app" for the store. Thanks for cluing me in. I'd rather see ONE account where I can get all things MS accomplished. But ..

Again, thanks.

You're welcome.

Hopefully Microsoft will take notice and resolve the issue with the photos app.
