Does Microsoft care about the Community?

With the new 8.1 update, my Surface RT can no longer use a USB Ethernet Cable. I thought this was meant for work, students, maybe even businesses. I was able to get it to work on 8.0 with Plugables method ( http://plugable.com/2012/12/11/windows-rt-surface-usb-ethernet-takedown ) but Microsoft wanted to take it away by telling them to pull it. Why would they pull it? It's supposed to help users connect their device to the internet instead of using built in WiFi. Why would I use it? To connect and bridge my Xbox 360 to the internet. Why aren't they allowing anything (like other browsers than IE) made by third party developers? They need more users?? We have our own opinions on software. Like for me. IE or Chrome. I use chrome because its faster than IE. If you want more users, make your software better Microsoft! It's just plain stupid! Over at another website ( http://www.xda-developers.com ) there are hard-working developers trying to get a "jailbreak" just to use third party applications working on the RT Devices. Its dumb that other users using RT have to work on it just to get what they are meant to get on their device! Most software made are for Windows and the majority of us love windows because of that. Some of us have RT and cannot enjoy different browsers, drivers, etc. Seriously Microsoft, if you are listening to the Community, before releasing the final version of 8.1, think about the Users, your Customers, and the whole Microsoft Community. What do you, the community think?

This is a forum for end-user support, not for suggestions or in your case complaints. For now, I suggest you roll back to 8.0 if you need to use Ethernet through USB. Version 8.1 is just a beta anyway and things may or may not change before the final release.

Roll back is NOT possible if you did not make a save point, or USB.. I am stuck on 8.1, with no joy.

Exchange not working, no desktop availability, no putty, no hyperterm or #insiddr

Going to sell off the RT and tell my company not to order anymore, as this was a test to see if our 40 managers could use it at work.

Not going to happen, until we get what ever. tired of complaining to a deaf ear.

I suggest you avoid beta software in the future if you are not comfortable and familiar with running it.

MS is going the wrong way Since Bill left the Company.
Gartner thinks that MS will be nr2 after apple in 2015. If they keep up doing such a bad job as 8.0 and then ship 8.1 without a propper start-menu I say it will be in 2014.

To fix this. do Supply recovery images as downloads. Stop destroying things that works. The start-menu, the drivers, the context menu in IE. The list can be made very long

OMG! Embrance change.. Don't be afraid of it. The start screen works like the start-menu if that is what you want. If people who are this afraid of change would rule the world we would still be on MS-DOS.

Do you have a Surface RT? If not you have no clue, we are all embracing change. My managers use the Office Suite with ease. It is the other apps that are NOT in the store that are complementing their job.

Thanks for reading.

I have had a Surface RT since launch. I also have a Surface Pro.

Also note that the RT (and Office RT) is for home use not business use..

Well of course, they care about the community. It is just that (this is just a opinion) they are against the jailbreak, just like apple.
