Searching in conversation (or chat) with some text is considering Exact text search rather than contains or starts with search.

Hi Team,

Skype search is a full word match search instead of contains a string or starts with a string search. It used to work in the old skype versions.

For eg: If there is a word with name "message" in recent conversations, searching with a text like "mes" doesn't find or give any results.

Thanks.

Hello KarthikV_2991,

We tried to replicate the issue on our end and you are correct, the search option is requiring a complete word in finding it. This is by design.

If you feel that this feature is necessary, we suggest for you to post your feedback, requests, recommendations via this link: Skype User Voice

Regards,

text search in chat only work with whole words.

It would be no results if I type "prob" wenn I want to find "problem" or "probe" or "probable".

It was fine in v.7 but now it should be the whole word typed, not the part of it.

It is nonsense. Is ist 70` or 80` ? Dos already has a better search function as skype v.8.

Make it right please, as it was in v.7.

So this is a BUG, which MS calls a feature(" This is by design.").

Cool. Are you kidding? " Microsoft Agent Moderator" could you at least think before answer, that this is by design. This is not by design, this is a program error. With such cut "search" you cannot find a program today. Because every programmer understand this is not a search function at all.

And yes I already post it in BUGs and vote for a new feature (bug elimination) by all posts.
