Office 365 Personal Setup

I purchased Office 365 Personal few days ago. Since then i am trying to install Office in my laptop and still failing. After umpteen attempts It says installation complete and when i open any app, it works for a few seconds and gives this message "Word/any stopped working". I uninstalled and installed again but still this problem persists. And also while installing it says "Sorry, your net connection is slow", when i can stream FHD videos seamlessly without any breakage, how can it say my connection is too slow? How much speed this Office 365 need to properly download and install? What i have to do to make this work in my laptop? An open source one is working with no issues, and a paid one is failing to install itself. I tried with my other laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium there also same situation, as in this laptop with 8.1. I want a solution for this issue. Or Canceling subscription is the better solution for all the issues, to continue my work more efficiently?

Hello Raghava,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community.

A good internet connection should be sufficient to download and install Office 365. Since you have issue with the applications not working and stopping, let us try the following steps.

We will try completely uninstalling Office 365 and reinstalling it by following these steps as mentioned hereunder.

First check what type of internet connection you use (Wired or Wireless)?

If you are using a wireless connection then you may try to hardwire the connection. Once this is done continue with these steps.

  • In order to uninstall Office remnants from your computer, you will have to install and run the Office 365 FIXIT tool.
  • Download / Install and run the Office 365 FIXIT tool from the following link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501

Once you have completed running the FIXIT follow these steps to delete the Office 15 folders.

  • From Windows Explorer please navigate to the following location: C:\Propgram Files\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\
  • Make sure to delete the Microsoft Office 15 folder. In case you are not able to delete the folder then right-click on it and click on Rename. Rename the folder as Microsoft Office 15 old. Ignore these steps in case you are not able to find the Microsoft Office 15 folder in the above mentioned location or if you are not able to delete or rename the Microsoft Office 15 folder.
  • Once you have completed running the FIXIT and deleted/renamed the Office 15 folder be sure to restart your computer.
  • Now try logging into the My Account page and install Office 365. The URL for the My Account page is http://office.com/myaccount. Sign-in to the My Account page with your Microsoft Account Credentials. Microsoft account credentials would be your Outlook.com or Hotmail.com or Live.com email account or any other account which you have used for the Office 365 purchase registration.

Check if you were able to download and install Office 365 successfully. After completing this check if Office 365 prompts you for activation. If yes, proceed with the steps on screen and activate Office 365.

In case the above steps do not work then please follow the steps from this link to perform general troubleshooting for Office 365 / 2013.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2822317

Once you have completed installing Office 365 again restart the computer. After restart check if you are able to open Office applications normally and work with Office 365.

Please try the above steps and let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.
