Maverick killed Office - a fonts problem?

Since updating to Maverick all of my Office applications stopped working. They are crashing while trying to load the fonts (it's called "Schriftartmenü" in my German Office version). The peculiar thing is that this happened both on my Macbook Pro and on my iMac.

This is what happened so far:

1. Mac OS X Lion, Office works fine

2. Update to Mavericks, Office does not start anymore, crashes during loading screen

3. Re-Install Office for Mac 2011 14.3.8, still not starting, crashes during loading screen

(at „Schriftartmenü“)

And this is Word's error report (Excel's and PowerPoints's look the same):

Error Signature:

Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS

Date/Time: 2013-10-24 18:36:23 +0000

Application Name: Microsoft Word

Crashed Module Name: unknown

Crashed Module Version: unknown

Crashed Module Offset: unknown

Blame Module Name: unknown

Blame Module Version: unknown

Blame Module Offset: unknown

Application LCID: 1031

Extra app info: Reg=en Loc=0x0407

Crashed thread: 0

Does anyone have an idea what I could try that might help? It's urgent!

Thank you for your reply. An apple engineer just called me after I posted this in the Apple Support Community aswell - what a great support! Deactivating the Microsoft Office error reporting did the trick:

Open Finder, go to your hard drive, then Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MERP2.0 and open Microsoft's error reporting program ("Microsoft-Fehlerberichterstattung" in German). In the program menu go to the preferences and just deactivate the error reporting.

Directly after this all of my Office 2011 applications were working fine again.
