"Clan name denied due to prohibited text"

If you are only banned from using the Clan Tag Editor in Black Ops and no other game then the issue lies with Treyarch and they would be the ones to contact since MS does not handle game specific suspensions/bans.

It seems to me that you had more than a few offensive clan tags, people were offended by them, reported them and you were punished in accordance with the Treyarch Terms of Service.

The emblem editor works the same way, too many offensive images and they ban the use of that feature on your account within their game.

I would recommend you follow the rules, use common sense and move on. Just because you are playing an M rated game does not mean you can do whatever you want.

First of all, I have followed the rules. I NEVER put any offensive clan tag. Unless you consider 671 (my area code) offensive. Second, I do know common sense. And third, I do know that just because the game is M Rated I can't do ANYTHING I want. I buy the game, and play it. SImple as that. Thanks for your useless reply. :)

It appears to me that you completely ignored the first part of my post and focused only on the second, third and fourth parts. The first part is the information you need to pay close attention to as it pertains to your situation.

Don't you think I've tried that? A LOT OF PEOPLE tried contacting MS AND Treyarch AND Activision. Treyarch and Activision point fingers at MS saying it's a glitch in the profanity filtering system. And MS is pointing fingers back at Treyarch and Activision.

Idk what it is with you companies, but more and more people are starting to complain about this issue and we're all just listening to YOU PEOPLE complain and blame one another for this. What you campanies need to do, is sit down and talk to help resolve the issue. Not blame each other. Good God...

I've had this problem for well over a month and a half already and there's STILL NO SOLUTION even though I've been asking all three companies about it. Clearly you didn't read that link I included in my first post. I did what they told me to do, and still nothing. So they said to check with MS. And what, you guys are pointing back at them.

Just fix the problem,  me and the other Black Ops players don't care who fixes it. Just fix it...case closed. It sucks that I paid for my game, and can't even use the features when MS/Treyarch/Activision have a stupid glitch in a filtering system that keeps me from using ANY clan tag just because I have a GT that has NO profanity in it.

If you don't want to fix it, then send me 800 free MS points so I can change my name and I'll be on my merry way and won't bother you ever again. :)

It is an in-game feature that you are having an issue with so it is up to Treyarch/Activision to correct their problem. MS does not control in-game features or content. Just because the game uses a word filter doesn't automatically make it MS's responsibility to correct it when it isn't working properly. Treyarch/Activision would have to adjust the filter from their end.

And I have no problems using the clan tag editor in this game. Since the clan tag editor is not a game breaking feature I would just move on and play the game. Thousands of players aren't able to use the emblem editor yet they continue to play the game. This is no different.

MS will not send you any points because this is not an issue on their end. If you want to change your GT you will have to fork over the points to do so yourself.

Whatever you wanna call it then. You shouldn't be telling me this, you should be calling up treyarch/activision to tell them since they're the ones saying it's MS fault. I'm not the one that needs to argue with you guys about this anyways. It should be you and treyarch/activision because you guys seem to blame one another. When you guys get into a brawl,  be sure to put the video on youtube so everyone that's been complaining about this to both treyarch and MS will at least get a little satisfaction out of this stupid problem that no company wants to take the blame for. I do not work for nor am I affiliated with Microsoft. I am just a regular gamer like you trying to help out. Microsoft employees have an S and an X in their CUL. Regular gamers who frequent the forums have a number in their CUL.

Temhotabot you are correct yet mostly very much wrong.

The creat a clan tag feature is an in game feature however the filter that governs this and any other Player Input Data is owned and operated/created by MS, specifically the XBLPET, and they require ALL game developers to use this filter (which is also the exact same filter that governs Gamer Tag creation) if their game allows players to input any data (text) that can be viewed by other players online.

x iB D4yvl1n x you will be comforted to know that you are not alone. MANY others have this same issue including myself. I am activiely pursuing those in charge of this filter (the XBLPET) and if you follow my thread talking about the issue then I will let you know of any fixes or updates that I come up with.

I just ran some tests on your GT and it turns out that "ib" is considered "prohibited text".

Ya...I know....what the smerf right? Well the filter seems to be broken right now. As I said I am right now activiely pursuing this with the XBLPET and will hopefully get this fixed.

Here is a fix you CAN do. Call the 1800-4my-xbox tech support number and let them know about the problem. Do not take "sorry we can't help you" as an answer. Keep asking them to escalate the issue to a higher level of tech support. At some point they should offer to allow you to change your GT for free (they did this for me. I am just not willing to change my GT, as it is fine/non offensive, for one feature on one game)
