PLEASE HELP!! I try playing online but I can't!

I try to play an online game with my friend( doesn't only happen with her), and we join a party and everything is fine. We can talk and nothing goes wrong. As soon as she invites me to a game, 30 seconds in I get kicked out of the game and the party! I try playing or finding games on borderlands 2 and only two matches show up but when I try to join them, I can't because I lose connection to them. I'm paying for Internet and Xbox love services. My Internet is Tome Warner Cable. Did a speed test and it's around 20 mb/s. so that isn't the issue. Hulu works fine, youtube works...my Xbox is connected directly so it's not wireless. What's the problem? Can time Warner users not use Xbox live to it's fullest or something?? Please help! This is so irritating!

Try resetting you're connection (unplugging your modem/turning of Wifi). It seems to be a side-effect from when Xbox Live crashed 3 days ago. It will hopefully work again soon. I'm not sure there's much else you can do :( Sorry.

Yea. I did that...I called Time Warner Cable because I thought it may have been an issue with them but it wasnt. I opened ports and turned uPnP on...nothing works. I guess I can't play online again? :(

They should be open. I port forwarded them. I did a test on my network settings and everything is fine. No service alert telling me it's set to strict or moderate. Could it be the modem Time Warner cable provided? Should I buy one myself? I so, what's a good modem that uses cable?

A good modem that uses cable should be able to found an Amazon, if you need one.

Yea. I tried Amazon before and got screwed. They took my money. First time ordering from them too. Didn't leave a good impression on me. It's weird though. I can join a game but like 30 seconds later I get kicked/disconnected. And my mb/s is about 18-20. So that shouldn't be the problem. Is it just xbox live? It seems to only be happening to me though and Nottingham friends or brother.

It may be that it damaged your modem, although I doubt it. Maybe you could take your console to a friends house and link it up to his modem to see if it works? Please let me know what happens :)

You said you are direct connecting, are you directly connecting to your modem or are you using a router in your internet configuration as well.  

Some modems have 4 ports, others just have one.

Next time I have the chance, I'll connect it to my brothers and see if it works. If not then it must be the modem itself. Thank you for the tips. I'll get back to you after I tried it at my brothers. Take care for now everyone. (:
