Can't download Mass Effect 1 DLC- Bring Down the Sky.

Trying to download- Mass Effect 1 DLC- Bring Down the Sky.

Error Message- Download progress stops at 37%, then after a few minutes I get the message- "Can't download Bring Down the Sky".

Problem- My Bring Down the Sky DLC became corrupted and wouldn't let me play it roughly 1 week ago. I have owned the DLC since 2009 and played it extensively without a problem. When I attempt to redownload the DLC, the progress bar gets stuck at 37% and won't go any further. Eventually, I get the error message "Can't download Bring Down the Sky".

I have cleared the system cache several times, portforwarded the ip address of my 360, and attempted a wired connection (it's usually wirelessly connected). While wired, the download bar will get to 37% faster, but will not go any further just like on wireless.

I haven't moved and am using the same internet provider for when I originally downloaded Bring Down the Sky. I have been able to redownload other DLC fine, including Mass Effect 2 DLC that are much larger files than Bring Down the Sky.

What is the problem with this DLC and why can't I redownload it?

Thank you for your time and help,

Grant

You mentioned clearing the cache. That's good. Did you actually delete the dlc first?

An extra step!

Delete dlc, go down to system items, delete marketplace system data/rights database. You may not have either of these :(

Clear system cache, maybe turn your console off and reseat your harddrive and then try downloading again.

Thanks for the response Raett,

To answer your question- Yes, I have deleted the original corrupted DLC and the subsequent incomplete downloads from all my previous redownload attempts of the file.

I hadn't yet deleted the rights database (I didn't have the marketplace system data file). So, I deleted it, cleared the system cache again, turned off the console, reseated the harddrive, then tried redownloading as you suggested.

Unfortunately, the download still stopped at 37%, eventually giving me the error "Can't download Bring Down the Sky".

Earlier tonight (before trying these tips), I was able to download the "Kingdom of Amalur- Reckoning" demo, which was 1.9 GB in size, much larger than the Bring Down the Sky DLC which is 254 MB. This rules out a bandwith issue I had wondered.

Do you have any other suggestions, or have you heard of other people having issues specifically downloading Bring Down the Sky?

Thank you for your help!

I don't know anything about Bring Down the Sky, myself. It is possible its an invisible NAT issue. That would fit considering the Amalur demo downloaded fine (yeah, its a monster of a file. Downloaded it myself).

How are you connected? Wired, wireless, router, modem, wireless modem?

If possible, you should try downloading again while wired into a modem. A wireless modem wouldn't help unless you have it in "bridged mode".

For some unknown reason, I was able to download Bring Down the Sky about 2 hours ago. I have tried to download it for the past 2 weeks with the same results I posted originally. I wish I knew what changed, but I don't. I appreciate your help Raett either way!

To answer your question- Yes, I had tried downloading it while wired, I am usually connected wirelessly. It hadn't fixed the problem, and ironically I was able to download Bring Down the Sky on my wireless connection.

What is a NAT issue? I figured maybe something was wrong on Xbox Live's end with the file itself and maybe they fixed it today.

Thanks again for your help!
