I have a turtle beach x41, my wife has an x12. Both headsets work fine for chatting while playing games (halo) but we can never hear each other in party chat or game chat? Is there a setting to enable this? Even though we are in the same room, with the headsets on we can't hear each other talking and need to have hear each other's chat voices. Any ideas?

The same problem has happened to me. One user might use the headset and one only. If you tried using two headsets into two different controllers, it won't work. I've tried to do the same when I first got mine with my cousin.
Example; If Player 1 has the headset in and is talking perfectly fine, Player 2 cannot use the other headset and speak to the other users as well. It must be into one controller, (the one that is signed into Xbox Live).

I don't think both people on just one Xbox 360 can speak with two controllers.

Are you each using a different Gold membership profile?, or is one of you signed in as a guest of the other?.
Either way I personally have never heard of a way to do this, not when 2 people are playing on the same console in the same room.

if you are split screening you can not both use the headsets. Only the main gamertag can.

you can both use headsets IF you sign in to 2 different profiles, not with 1 profile and 1 guest. problem is when you both use headsets and you're running around in multiplayer you hear footsteps, guns, and whatever else from their screen as well as yours.
you both will be able to talk in multiplayer, but you won't be able to hear each other through the headset, only other people.
at least that's how our set up rolls... 2 Tritton AX 720's plugged in to 1 amp.

We have separate live accounts but play split screen. So, microsoft never thought that people with headphones would want to talk to each other? Wtf is that? Is there a [Mod removed]?
I know it gets a little confusing hearing footsteps and grenades if it's not your screen, but it's really annoying to not be able to chat and co-ordinate with the rest of the team.

I and my son ran into the same thing today. I bought us both Logitech headsets for Christmas. We are able to play split screen, and we can talk to other members of our party. But we can't hear each other talk. The headsets block out most outside noise, so even though he and I are sitting right next to each other, we can't coordinate with each other in-game.
Microsoft if you're listening, please add an option that allows two people with headsets, playing on the same console, to chat with each other *through* the headsets.

Hey there Fragger! It sounds like the headsets are having an issue with canceling noise around them. You may want to contact them to see if that is something you can turn off or work around. Let us know in a new thread what you find out, thanks!
