Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge - Demo On The Marketplace Now

Is this an expansion to the main game or a 'enhanced' release?

This appears to be a 'very enhanced release'.

It contains all the DLC from the origiginal game, the Ayane Missions and it looks like the gameplay has been seriously revamped.

The first game was bloody but there was no dismemberment.

The combat enhancements may please those hardcore players who were turned off by the original "Ninja Gaiden 3" for being a different game than "Ninja Gaiden 2".

Just have a play through on Normal.

I dare ya.

The demo features an Ayane level and a Ryu level.

I've played the Ryu level in the original game and though the scene is the same it plays differently.

For those of you who like to decide for yourselves, download it and check it out.

For those of you who need to be told if you can like it or not, you may as well get a head start just in case you're told it's good.

Afs mentioned above all the Karma you bank will carry over to the main game.

NG3 alienated a lot of its fans in the name of broader appeal. It seems like it's the Devil May Cry 2 of the series. Here's hoping this remake will signal a return to the intense technical action of the earlier games.

The revamped gameplay is drawing comments that it 'plays like previous Ninja Gaiden games'.

There are 4 characters that are playable in the game.

Ryu and Ayane, Kasumi and another and that number goes to 5 if you count your own personal Ninja character that you create for yourself.

Looking forwards to this now.

Downloaded, played, deleted. Not a fan of repetitive hack n slash games. One thing I was surprised at was the amazingly bland looking environments, would it kill them to put some detail in there?

Maybe it will look better in the final version?

Yes but for "Ninja Gaiden: Black" they were giving us the actual game as well as the "Hurricaine Pack" enhancements that were previously only available on XBox LIVE at a time when more people were playing offline than on.

Also, though it wasn't advertised on the box, because the German censors objected to the decapitation of human characters they refused to give the game a 16+ certificate.  Worried that this would adversely affect sales they created a Censored Version of "Ninja Gaiden" and released this to ALL of Europe.

I spent a week trying to figure out Ryu's move for decapitating people before I discovered that I had been sold an alternate version of the game.

Thankfully the "Hurricaine Pack" restored the game to it's original format and decapitations were back in and it wasn't until "Ninja Gaiden: Black" that Europe was actually playing "Ninja Gaiden".

So while your comments may be true for the States, here in the UK this is the first "Enhanced" version of a Ninja Gaiden game to be released on XBox.

Sigma is the worst version of the game. You have to do these stupid Rachel missions that mess up the game's pace.
