New Update E64?

So today, my console got the new xbox update, however, during the middle of the update, my screen turned black, then i got an error screen, with error 64. (The lower right ring was red, and the green light flashed.) This only lasted about 2 minutes, until my console restarted and the update finished installing. 

Is everything fine? Im kind of confused because i got the error, then it restarted and my update finished, which led me back to the dashboard. I did look up the error, and it said there is something wrong with the disc drive, so i didn't know if the update might've messed something up in the drive or not.

Any help(i guess you could say) would be appreciated :)

Try to play a game. If it works might have just been a hiccup. If not well your screwed and need to call support.

I just experienced the same problem. I freaked out. I removed the hard drive and unplugged the power for about 5 minutes. I plugged the power back in with the HDD still removed. The same E64 message came up. I tried to hit eject and nothing. Then I turned off the console and immediately turned it back on. This time it started the update but told me to connect the HDD and the system will restart automatically. I connected the HDD and the system restarted and began the update. Once update was complete the XBox was working fine.

E64: DVD Drive Error - Dvd drive timed out during reset :Wrong firmware, dvd is without f/w chip, etc. This can also be caused by the tray not being fully closed on boot. also it could mean that the Kernel can't be launched/signature in NAND Flash chip is broken It could be possible after bad update. This might also be caused by a bad SATA cable.

i keep getting e64 after update nearly done after i get a status message gona try what i can as got lots of spear parts but i hav tryed the update with no disk drive in and still doz same thing all i keep hearing if send 2 microsoft so eny good idears...

ok just found out werd but by removing disk drive on my console and installing update using usb some how i can get this console back online so yer if u got the tolls give it a go or send it off is all i can relay say

EASY Fix It just worked for me

1)console off

1) hold controller connect button on console

2) turn on console

3) it will now work
