Keyboard support?

Well I'm waiting for my game to do it's update, but was fustrated with the codes for COD: Ghosts as no scan label for kinect, and my keyboard that i used with 360, doesn't work with xbox one. It's a straight keyboard, plugged in by usb. Is there a keyboard that is compatible with Xbox one? Many of the codes would not be entered by computer, kept coming up with an error code, had to enter via controller. Even now - 25 minutes after set up, still at only 7% for the game update, guessing many people doing the same thing.

So my question incase you missed it - will there be / is there a keyboard that can be plugged in to the console for ease of messages/codes etc, or are we expected to have the computer set up near the gaming area at all times? Is it just my keyboard being so old it actually has a plug and a cord?

Support for keyboards is not enabled at launch, but it could be added in later.

Can't expect something as exotic as a keyboard to be supported on day one.  ;^>

If you have a SmartGlass enabled device, you can use the keyboard via that app on the console.

I don't think that a very helpful answer because:

1. Not everyone has access to a SmartGlass enabled device.

2. The OP could be trying to enter a particularly long WiFi passkey.

IMO USB keyboard support should have been a day-1 feature rather than working on niche features (i.e. TV) that are applicable to a minority of users.

I know this thread is old but I would like to know if keyboard support has been added?

I was reading a game reviiew in which the reviewer said he used a blue tooth keabord and mouse but didnt say what model.

Anyone have any info on if its supported and if so what make and model keybord?

Yes I have used a wireless key board  its a Logitech which I also use with my pc, a mouse  is not supported.

Hey UncagedWAR,

Keyboard support is now enabled.

You can plug most, if not all, keyboards into one of the available USB ports on the console and it will work as a functional keyboard.

There is also limited support for some wireless keyboards - it would be advised to create your own thread to find out which these are.
