HDMI Cable Questions?

So i picked up an HDMI cable yesterday for my Xbox 360 and it worked perfectly when i used it. I play a few matches of BO2 and then switch to GTA V. I took out the HDMI Cable for AV cables to compare the graphics. SO when i plug the cable back in and switch to HDMI-2. (I have a 32 Inch VIZIO LCD TV) HDMI-2 kept saying retrieving data, not support, then No Signal. But works fine with the standard AV cables. So i can't change my HDTV settings with the standard AV cables, it won't allow it. So i was wondering, should i get HD AV cables, change the xbox settings to 1080P, then back to the HDMI Cable?

Notes:

HDMI Cable works with Xfinity/Comcast cable box.

Yes the tv does 1080P

Yes I'm dying on the inside.

Hello,

First to double-check, ensure you do not have both the hdmi and A/V cables connected at the same time.  After that, try the following:

  • Power off the console and TV
  • Plug in the HDMI cable to the console (ensure no other video cables are connected)
  • Plug the other end into the TV
  • Turn on the TV and choose the correct input on the TV (HDMI 2 in your case)
  • Follow these instructions here (specifically, option # 4) when you turn on the 360:  support.xbox.com/.../tv-or-monitor-screen-is-blank-while-connected

If this works, you should be back at 480P.  You can then go into to the System Settings and change your Display Options to 720P or 1080P.

Bets of luck!
