Forgot Parental Password

my mom tried to access it this morning and it told her it was incorrect. she tried it several more times and several other passwords she generally uses and none of them work. problem is she used a gmail, not windows live, as her email. is this why it's acting up?

to specify she has the email and the password to it, but she thought this was the password the xbox uses and when she used it it didn't work. DOES it use the same password as the password to your email? can she get it emailed to her or a reset emailed to her? is the issue because it's not a live? thanks xx

Your mom will have to call support for help.  If you live in North America, the number is 1-800-4MY-XBOX

I'd like to ask, inkrealm- did you get this problem solved when you called support? I'm having the same problem and support is telling me to go through this "windows live account recovery" process, and I've said to them many times, "this email is not a windows live address". They tell me each time that this does not matter and I am to go through the recovery process anyway. What else can I do? The recovery process hasn't worked, and because most of the info it asks for has to do with hotmail folders associated with the account, etc-which don't exist! I'm very frustrated. Any insight?

@Fiery - what support means is go to My Xbox>System Settings>Memory on your xbox dashboard.  Delete your profile only (not profile and games) from the hard drive and then recover it to the console.  To recover your gamertag to your console, all you need is the email address and password associated with the account.  It does not need to be a hotmail address.
