Deleting Xbox Live Profile to free up email address

There is no way to completely delete a profile from the servers. You would have to change the WLID on this account in order to free it up for use on your main account.

That's stupid. For two reasons: 1. It's a stupid policy to not allow anyone to actually delete an account. Seriously, who does that? and 2. I have to wait 30 days after having created a temporary live account to swap this profile to it.  Why?  That's a rediculous policy if they're going to enact this ludicrous system of not letting you delete an account, I should be able to swap emails immediately.  

There HAS to be someone out there that can delete this account. I've talked to the chat support and I've talked to phone support. I'm looking for an administrator: not customer service people.

not really in the age of cloud noone can delete an account it is a normal policy

this includes all major services

this prevents fraud and  major loss when an phisher steals an account and deletes it on you

you can always recover it with admin help

you can swap emails

you first change the email to a temporary email on the first account

then use the freed up email to cvreate a new profile on the second account

There isn't a cloud with XBox Live. There's an account who's data is stored on a server within Microsoft where data is occasionally downloaded to a satellite console.  If you delete the data on the server (this is implying proper scripting telling the consoles that the account was deleted) the account should no longer exist.

As far as phishing goes: don't get phished.  It's not hard to spot.  If you're ignorant enough to get phished in this age, frankly, you deserve it.

I KNOW I CAN SWAP EMAILS! That's all anyone has told me. I tried doing that before I contacted support the first time. I don't have an extra live account, so I made one.  I now have to wait 30 days to do anything with it because of some other bullshit policy that I don't understand.

To future posters: I know how to do the email juggle.  I'm not looking for advice.  I'm looking for someone to delete this damned account.

You know what you have to do, and you have been told the account can not be deleted. Thats pretty much it man, you have to follow the procedure laid out - Wait 30 days and swap the emails.

accounts are stored in your xbox and xbox live servers (CLOUD) along with gamesaves now

deletion of accounts are never supported

no service actually allows you to do that when connected with purchases

they will tell you the same thing

delete it from your hd and forget about it

What a load of [mod removed]. How does this system work if someone uses the same ID as you?! I can't wait 30 days , and I can't access my own profile. Apparently this stupid account I'm on has the same email AND password as my own, and it's pissing me off. It's absolute *** that you can't delete an account.

Chestnut, it sounds like you are possibly having a different issue than what the OP is mentioning. If you tried to sign in using your WLID+Password and were prompted to create a new Xbox Live Account, I would suggest either creating your own forum thread for better assistance from the Forum Support team or contacting phone support and letting them know what had happened.

I got pissed off so I deleted my hotmail/ Microsoft account so they now have an invalid Xbox account.
