Can't restore from nas drive back.

I used a nas drive to back up my computer with windows 7.  My hard drive died-5 months old-.  I have reinstalled windows 7 from the dvd.  Now i wanted to restore my pictures and stuff.  I opened up backup rstore and found the nas drive but windows won't reconize the back ups????   It say it could not find any backup sets.  The folder I told it to look at is call backup sets with a date code. I have tried all the date and same thing.  If I go to nas drive and look in the folders I can see files and folders in them but there is so many I can't find my pictures or emails.  How do I make this work???

Hi sledhead1,

Welcome to Microsoft Answers!

Which type of backup did you perform?

Which option did you select to restore files from Backup?

You may follow these steps and check.

1.      Open Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore.

2.      Do one of the following:

·         To restore your files, click Restore my files.

·         To restore the files of all users, click Restore all users' files. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

3.      Do one of the following:

·         To browse the contents of the backup, click Browse for files or Browse for folders.

When you're browsing for folders, you won't be able to see the individual files in a folder. To view individual files, use the Browse for files option.

·         To search the contents of the backup, click Search, type all or part of a file name, and then click Search.
