Can't rip Cd's in Windows Media player with Windows 7

Hi,

I am having problems ripping CD's to my PC. I put in a CD, a legitimate shop bought music CD and although I can play it without any problems, I can't copy/rip it to my PC. AS Media player is now a part of Windows instead of a separate program, I can't even uninstall it and then re-install it to repair it. Can anyone help me with this problem as I don't have a stereo and use my PC as my music player?

Thanks.

Answer

Hello Thraxis,

I am sorry to know that you have had bad experience.

1.      What exactly happens when you try to rip the CDs, do you get any error?

2.      What is the format of the files that you are trying to rip?

I suggest that you try the below method to fix this issue.

This could be caused if the Media Player is library is referring to some of the locations that are not used on by the Media Player.

a.      Open Media Player and press the ‘Alt’ key on the keyboard to bring up the File menu.

b.     Click on File, ‘Manage Libraries’ and select ‘Music’.

c.      This will bring up a Window with Music library locations.

d.     Remove all the locations (not used) except the default location where you have the music saved.
