DIFx driver package install error 1610154549 re brother printer model MFC-7860CW.

I have Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 installed.  I tried installing the Brother MFL-Pro Suite that came with the printer, but keep getting the install error.  I turned off anti virus protection as the Brother rep suggested and still got the error.  His next and only other suggestion was to contact the computer manufacturer, but since I have upgraded my HP a6767c desktop to Windows 7, the automated HP help section refers me to Vista related topics.  I have not received any response to my post on the HP forum.  Can anyone tell me how to get around the error message and install the software.
