[Updated & Resolved] Windows 10 says I have to connect to the internet to activate, but I am connected.
After upgrading from Windows 7 or Windows 8, Windows 10 is unable to activate. Also, my Activation status says I need to connect to the Internet but I am connected to the Internet.
If the Activation status in Settings – Update & Security – Activation says “Connect to the Internet to activate Windows”
and you’re connected to the Internet, please click the Activate Now button.
Please do not attempt to clean install Windows 10 until your PC activates successfully and says “Windows is Activated” in
the Activation status. For more on clean installation of Windows 10 after upgrading review the post - Can
I clean re-install Windows 10 after upgrading?
We were experiencing an issue with our activation service that could have resulted in some PCs unable
to finish activation after upgrading. This issue has been resolved.
