Hi Tracy,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Community. We regret the inconvenience caused and will assist you in resolving the issue.

Node.dll is a type of DLL file associated with Windows 10 operating system. DLL (Dynamic link library) files such as Node.dll are small programs, similar to EXE (executable) files, which allow multiple software programs to share the same functionality.

Method 1: Run SFC scan by following steps from the link below and check if the issue is resolved.

SFC scan is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. If a Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected. For example, some Windows functions may not work, or Windows may crash.

Method 2: If the issue persists, re-register node.dll from an elevated command prompt by following the steps below:

  1. Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select Command prompt (admin) from the context menu. Enter administrator password if prompted.

  2. Type the following command in the command prompt window.

    regsvr32 /u node.dll and press Enter to un-register node.dll file

    regsvr32 /i node.dll and press Enter to re-register node.dll file

  3. Close the command prompt window, restart the program you are trying to install and check if the changes are effective.
