COMPLETE FAIL - new setting: "Only see websites on the allowed list" - BROKEN!!!

There's a new setting in the "simplified" version of Family Safety (which I am not liking one bit!!!) called: "Only see websites on the allowed list". It completely does not work! I checked it, navigated away from and back to the page - and it's unchecked again. And I see my child is not only able to access the websites that I've whitelisted.

This needs to be fixed. Microsoft, you cannot change parental controls under our noses without giving us any choice before doing it!...

Hi all,

The issue has been fixed. When you select the option "Only see websites on the allowed list", you will be able to enforce the restriction where your child is able to only visit the sites specified in the "Always allow these" List.

We appreciate your patience as we worked through the issue.

Thanks.

Naveen, would you be able to comment about the many, many dissatisfied comments about the new "simplified" design - and the desire of so many to bring to previous more powerful (not complicated!) version back?

EliezerChicago, I am one of those parents that want the expanded (less simplified version) version of the site that gave me options which provided much more control of how I can control family safety for my children.  Why not have both options available?  For those that comfortable with computers and administration, let them have access to the advanced more powerful functionality and for those that are not comfortable with this, a simplified version of the website would be available.  For me, I would definitively prefer a fully advanced version of the controls like they used to be.

Chuck, I apparently was very unclear. I am certainly one of those parents, too! And as a matter of fact, everyone who has posted on this forum is also one of those parents! What I was trying (not too well apparently) to ask Naveen (MS employee) was to address the dissatisfaction of people like ourselves who want the more powerful controls back.

Hi Anil,

it's not working for me. "Only see websites on the allowed list" is activated and still can navigate to any site.

No, I am still having two problems as I've detailed here:

Windows Family Safety: blocked Google search accessible via Chrome's "Omnibox" - also new Chrome extensions accessible

Is this ever going to be fixed? I don't see any updates from Microsoft. After setting up the restrictions on my child's account, I can still go to any web site.
