Outlook 2016 - Office 365 - Duplicate Emails after new update

Outlook 2016 updated something today and ever since I keep getting duplicate emails, sometimes 2 or 3 of the same email.  I am using a pop3 account and there are no duplicate emails when using web-mail.  This just start today and I know there was an update because when I started Outlook it had an update message that showed up.  This message said there are new features, Black theme,  ability to copy/paste attachments, etc.

I ran scanpst.exe and there are no errors in the pst file.  What could be the issue with the new update?

Sorry to put that onus upon you, however, you appear to have innate knowledge of the products and if anyone can get the message through, I have confidence ! ! ! !

Thanks again for what you have done and in advance for what I would be eternally grateful if you could deliver as noted.

Thanks for the vote of confidence but you can share your feelings directly in the following discussion started by <Dan V> MS forum owner/moderator :-)

Email is deleted from POP accounts in Outlook 2016

At the same time, can also assure that this issue has been taken very seriously by the Outlook team. In the interest of full disclosure, it was our (our = MVP's) Outlook contact that provided me with the info to convey to everyone (as much as I'd like to take credit for "original content" :-). It's in everyone's interest and a lot more productive for Outlook team members to work on the issues while we convey the info to the community whenever possible.

 unchecked delete after 2 weeks and they stay on my server. (I am happy)

Anyone else see this behavior?

POP email issue fixed - see first post in the following thread

FIXED 3/4/16: Problems with POP accounts in Outlook 2016: Email is deleted from server or duplicated in Inbox
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2016-outlook/fixed-3416-problems-with-pop-accounts-in-outlook/79e8177f-b04e-491e-9a82-ae5b6565d3c0

Pay special attention to the following in MS KB 3145116 - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3145116

Note: After the fix is applied, Outlook may download all email one final time. If this occurs and email is duplicated in your Inbox, use the method described in the "More Information" section.

The operative word in the above is "may". If you have a lot of data in your <Inbox> and want to take some additional precautionary steps avoiding newly downloaded dupes as an alternative to what's suggested - the process is as follows <before> connecting to the POP account the first time with the updated build

#1 - Create a new mail folder
#2 - Highlight your Inbox
     --> move focus to <Inbox> items
     --> CTRL+A to highlight all items
     --> right-click
     --> select <Move>
     --> Other folder
     --> select the newly created folder
#3 - If the update results in everything being downloaded again, you will have a clean inbox without dupes. If the items are not downloaded, then, you will need to reverse the process and copy everything back to the <Inbox>

Also, for those using <rules> to move inbox items to other folders, you will want to turn those off during the first connection to your account in the event that everything gets downloaded again - else you will have dupes in all the other folders.
