Clutter options missing?

I have Windows 10 and use the new web mail Outlook.com 2016. There is a new folder called Clutter. I received an email  from MS introducing this with a link to Mail Options if I wanted to turn Clutter off. There is no Clutter option.

There are "Inbox and Sweep rules, in the Mail options- automatic processing section. I have searched on the web and it seems that the Clutter option is sometimes in this folder, but not in mine. This is another "bug" in MS, but I would be grateful if someone knows how I can turn off Clutter. One solution that does not work is the right click on the Clutter folder- Clutter settings. That again just takes me to the mail options and again there is no clutter option. The clutter option should be under automatic processing, I have checked all the Options sections, it is not there at all!

Hi Steve,

To verify, do you have an Office 365 subscription? If so, try signing into https://login.microsoftonline.com/ and then send us a screenshot showing the options that you have when you go to Settings > Options > Mail > Automatic processing > Clutter.

We look forward to your reply.

Steven,

I have this exact same issue. My clutter folder is still there, but no mail is being directed into it, and the option to enable and disable clutter is gone today. I checked the accounts of my family members and their clutter settings have also disappeared. All of these accounts are the standard free "@outlook.com" addresses.

My primary email was was just upgraded from the "old" outlook.com to the new OWA based outlook.com this week, so this is very annoying in addition to that. I do have another outlook.com account that was upgraded to OWA months ago, where clutter has already been replaced by the "Focused Inbox" feature, but this isn't the case here.

I do not have a subscription I am using free Outlook.com on Windows 10 Pro and on another computer Windows 10, which has recently been upgraded. It is this "upgrade" that has caused this and other problems.

Thanks Michelle. For me at least, the options have returned as usual. It must have been a temporary issue.

Is this really true?

Clutter is being replaced by a very similar feature called Focused Inbox. Basically it divides your inbox into "Focused" and "Other" views, rather than moving email to a separate folder like clutter. You can already use it on the apps and it works pretty similar.

Is it being replaced, or has it been replaced? If it is being replaced then options for it should still be there until it has been replaced, surely?

Hi Steven,

You may refer to this link to know more about the Clutter function in Outlook. It is also stated that customers who don't have an Office 365 subscription won't have an access to some features such as Clutter. However, you may use the Focused Inbox function as it helps you to focus on the emails that matter most to you. You may refer to this link for more information about Focused Inbox for Outlook.

Regards.
